Klusko vs Trello is mostly a question about chat. Trello is a very good board. It’s quick, everyone has used it, and the free plan is generous. But it has no team chat, so the conversation about a card happens in Slack, WhatsApp or a group email, and the card sits there not knowing about it. Klusko is a Trello alternative with chat built into the same app, plus a few views Trello saves for its Premium plan. If your team is happy in Trello and chats somewhere else without losing things, you probably don’t need to switch. Trello prices below are as of September 2026.

Where Trello is better
It’s cheaper on its own. Trello Standard is $5 per user per month billed yearly; Klusko Team is £5, which is more once you convert it. If all you need is a board, Trello costs less.
The free plan gives you ten boards to our five projects, and Trello has had years to get the basics right. Dragging a card in Trello feels good. Everyone on your team has probably used it at a previous job, which counts for more than any feature list.
Then there’s the add-ons. Power-Ups connect Trello to other tools, Butler handles automations, and there’s an API. Klusko has none of those. Trello’s phone apps are on both stores too; ours is an iPhone app still in testing, with no Android app yet.
Where Klusko is better
Chat, which is the reason this page exists. In Trello, “can you do the Hendersons’ quote by Friday?” gets asked in Slack, somebody says yes, and a week later nobody can find it. In Klusko you ask in the channel, mention the task, and the message becomes a live link to it. The job and the conversation about it live in one account.

More views, earlier. Trello keeps calendar and table views for Premium at $10 per user billed yearly. Klusko’s Team plan has Board, List, Table, Calendar and Workload, and the free plan already includes Calendar. Workload is the one people don’t expect to use: it shows each person’s open tasks as a bar against the team average, so you can see at a glance that Magda has fourteen jobs and Tomasz has three.
Tasks have a bit more structure too, with a start date, a due date, one of four priority levels and custom fields per project. Tick off a recurring task and next week’s copy appears without anyone setting up an automation.
Klusko vs Trello: who should pick which
Stay on Trello if the board is all you need and your chat already works for you. Stay too if you rely on a Power-Up, or if your team is on Android.
Pick Klusko if the problem is the gap between the board and the chat. Say you run a seven-person kitchen-fitting firm. The fitters ask questions in a group chat, the office updates Trello, and the two drift apart by Wednesday. Put both in one app and the fitter’s question sits next to the job it’s about. Does Klusko have Power-Ups or integrations like Trello?
No. Klusko has no integrations, add-ons or API yet, and no automations like Trello’s Butler. What you get is built in: five views, custom fields per project, recurring tasks, task templates and chat. If your board depends on a particular Power-Up, check you can live without it before moving.
Can I import my Trello boards into Klusko?
Not yet. There’s no Trello importer, so moving over is a manual job. Set up a project for each board you still use, recreate your lists as stages, and copy across the open cards. Leave archived boards in Trello. For a small team with three or four live boards, that’s usually a couple of hours.
