Project management for ecommerce teams and the shop floor
Project management for ecommerce teams gets hard when half the team is on the shop floor and the other half is in Shopify. Klusko gives both halves one board and one chat.

Shop sold the last three large candles this morning. Website still says eight in stock
Fixing it now. Second time this week
Only 400 mailer boxes left, so I’ve made Order 600 extra mailer boxes urgent
Good. Last year we ran out by Saturday lunchtime and posted things in tea towels
The shop and the website don’t talk
In a small retail business the online team and the shop team usually sit in different places and use different chats. The shop sells the last large candle at 10am, the website keeps selling it until 4pm, and someone in customer service spends Monday writing apology emails.
We can’t fix your stock sync. That’s your till and your Shopify settings, and we don’t connect to either, because Klusko has no integrations yet. What it can do is put both teams in the same #stock channel and turn ‘we’re out of the large ones’ into a task with a name on it. A weekly recurring ‘Stock count: candles’ task makes someone check the numbers every Sunday instead of when a customer complains.
Plan Black Friday like a launch
Black Friday this year is 27 November, and in a small team the work starts in October: the photos, the discount codes, the email sequence, the packaging order and the shop window. Make it one project. Every job gets a task with an owner and a date, and the Calendar view shows the whole month so you can see that the code and the email are due on consecutive days.
The Workload view matters most in November. It shows each person’s open tasks against the team average, and it’s nearly always the one person who knows how the discount codes work who’s at twice everyone else. Move some of their tasks in October.
After Christmas, save the project’s tasks as templates. Next year’s Black Friday then takes an hour to set up. See also how we’d run a product launch or event.
Project management for ecommerce teams, what’s missing
We don’t pretend to be a retail system. Klusko doesn’t see your orders or stock levels, there’s no Shopify app, and there’s no automation to create a task when an order comes in. If you want a board that updates itself from your shop, this isn’t that. There’s also no Gantt chart, which we think most shops don’t miss.
What you get is the planning and the conversation. For a 12-person business split between shop and online, the Team plan is £60 a month billed yearly. As of September 2026, Slack Pro plus monday.com Standard would be about $267 a month for the same team, partly because monday sells seats in buckets and 12 people pay for 15. Every Klusko plan is free during early access; the pricing page has the rest.
Questions from retail teams
Does Klusko connect to Shopify or our till?
No. There are no integrations or API yet, so Klusko can’t read anything from Shopify or your till system. You’d use it alongside those systems for the work around them: launches, stock counts and the chat between the shop and the online team. If syncing orders into tasks is a must, we’re not the right fit today.
How would we handle returns in Klusko?
Keep a Returns project with a card for each return that needs a decision, such as a damaged item or a refund over a set amount. Add a custom field for the order number and attach the customer’s photo. Routine returns that your shop platform already handles probably don’t need a card at all; save Klusko for the ones someone has to think about.
Can our photographer or freelance designer join?
Yes. Add them as a Guest on one project, for example ‘Spring 2027 shoot’, and they’ll see that project’s tasks and attached files but not your other launches. They can see public channels, so if the sales chat is for staff only, make it private. Guests are part of the Team plan, which, like every plan, is free while we’re in early access.
Is there a mobile app for shop staff?
There’s a native iPhone app, but it’s still in testing and not on the App Store. There’s no Android app yet. Shop staff can use the web app on the shop’s computer or tablet, and anything they post in chat or update on a task shows up for the online team straight away, with no refresh.
