A content calendar for small business
A content calendar for small business usually starts as a spreadsheet with good intentions and dies around week five, when the person who made it goes on holiday. It dies because it sits apart from the work, with the drafts in one place and the photos in somebody’s WhatsApp.
In Klusko each piece of content is a task in a content project. The Calendar view shows the month with each task on its due date, so you can see that three posts land on the same Tuesday and nothing at all goes out the week of the 23rd. Attach the draft and the photos to the task. Now the calendar and the work are the same thing, and when Freya’s on holiday, Jonas can open the newsletter task and find where she’d got to.
Stages that match how you publish
Name the stages after what actually happens. For a small coffee roaster that might be Ideas, Drafting, Scheduled and Published. On the Board, a post moves right as it gets closer to going out. The Ideas column will get long; that’s fine, it’s the one place nobody minds clutter.
Custom fields help here. Add one for channel (newsletter, blog, Instagram, shop page) and one for the coffee it features, then save a view that shows only this month’s Instagram posts. Klusko doesn’t publish anything for you, because it has no integrations with social platforms or email tools. You still schedule the post in Instagram or your newsletter tool and tick the task. We think that’s a fair trade for having the plan and the chat in one place. Custom fields and saved views are on the Team plan; the planning page shows each view.
The newsletter that goes out every Thursday
Make it a recurring weekly task. When Freya ticks off this week’s issue, next week’s appears, so the calendar always shows the next one coming. Put the regular steps in as subtasks (choose the coffee, write the intro, add the photo, send a test to the team) and save the lot as a task template if you’d rather start each issue from a clean copy.

Feedback that stays with the post
Content attracts opinions. The owner wants a different photo, the head roaster says the tasting notes are wrong, and the conversation happens in five places at once. Keep changes to the piece itself in the task comments, with @mentions, and take the proper back-and-forth to a thread in #content. Mention the task in the thread and it becomes a live link, so anyone reading can get to the draft.

Questions about content planning
Can Klusko post to social media for me?
No. Klusko has no integrations or API, so it can’t publish to Instagram, LinkedIn or your email newsletter tool. Use it to plan the content and gather feedback on the drafts, then publish in the platform itself and tick the task off. We’d rather be honest about that than promise a scheduler we haven’t built.
Is the Calendar view on the Free plan?
Yes. Board, List and Calendar views are all on the Free plan, which covers up to 10 people and 5 projects. Table and Workload views, custom fields, saved views and recurring tasks need the Team plan. During early access every plan is free, and we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice before any charge.
Can the calendar show a single week?
Not at the moment: the calendar is a month view only. For a closer look at the week ahead, use a saved view in List or Table sorted by due date, or check My work, whose Today view shows what’s on your own plate. A small business’s content probably fits on a month anyway.
