Team management software for growing businesses of 10 to 50

Somewhere between 12 and 20 people, most owners hit the same wall. The Monday meeting now runs to 50 minutes, most of it people listing what they’re doing while everyone else checks their phone, and you still walk out unsure whether anyone booked the firewall swap at the solicitors. You used to know everything. There were eight of you in one room.

Say you run a 26-person IT support company, with a helpdesk, an onsite team, two people in sales and a new office manager. You’ve just made Marek head of onsite and Ines head of sales. Neither has managed anyone before. What they need is a way to see their team’s work without phoning round, and what you need is a business that doesn’t route every question through you. A shorter meeting helps too; we wrote up a weekly meeting agenda that fits in 20 minutes.

In Klusko a workspace holds projects. Give each team its own (Onsite, Helpdesk, Sales) and add a Company workspace for things that belong to everyone, like the holiday calendar or the office move. Marek’s projects live in Onsite. He can change the stages, add custom fields for site postcode or contract type, and run his board the way his team likes, without a meeting about it. People star the projects they open every day, so a long list doesn’t get in their way.

Roles are kept plain: Admin and Member. Add someone to a project without adding them to its workspace and they’re a guest there. There are no department-level permissions. That’s fine at 26 people and would bother us at 260. A client’s office manager can still join a single project as a guest without seeing the rest of your projects.

The Workload view gives each person a capacity bar and sets it against the team average. When Kasia’s bar is twice everyone else’s in the week of an 18-laptop rollout, Marek sees it on Monday instead of hearing about it on Friday. He reassigns the firewall job to Declan. It takes about as long as reading this sentence.

It’s a blunt tool, and it won’t give you hours, because Klusko has no time tracking. For a new manager it still answers the question they’re least comfortable asking out loud: who’s got too much? The planning features page shows Workload next to the Calendar view. Workload is on the Team plan.

Growth is when seat buckets start to hurt. As of September 2026, monday.com sells seats in buckets of 3, 5, 10, 15 and so on, and Asana sells them in steps of five once you’re past five users. Hire your eleventh person and you’re paying for fifteen on either. We find that irritating, and we doubt we’re alone.

Klusko’s Team plan is £5 per person per month billed yearly, or £6 monthly, for the number of people you actually have. At 26 people that’s £130 a month on yearly billing. At 27 it’s £135. Some of this you’ll notice by 30 people. Klusko has no SSO, no automations, no integrations and no API. Each task has one assignee, and there are no dependencies or Gantt charts. We don’t think most companies this size need a Gantt chart, but if you’ve promised a client one, you’ll be drawing it somewhere else.

Time tracking is the gap an IT support firm will feel most. If you bill by the hour, keep your PSA or timesheet tool for tickets and billing, and use Klusko for the project work and the conversation around it. That split is less tidy than one system. It’s also a lot cheaper than most systems that claim to do both.
